Options in Design
Designing is exciting and stimulating profession. Designers
tap their hidden or suppressed fountainheads of creativity
within them and create designs which improve our everyday
life. Area of interest for a designer may vary from textiles
to top applications of technology.
Graduate degrees or equivalent programs in Design are available
to 10+2/equivalent students. Admission to good institutes
is based on rigorous aptitude tests and interviews. Most
institutes have a foundation course of 1-2 years after which
the students choose their area of specialization, from furniture,
fashion, textile, jewelry, animation, product, visual, automobile
design and many more. The students have the opportunity
of further specialization at a Post Graduate level from
select reputed institutes.

of Product Design, Furniture & Or Interior Design, Fine
Arts, Ceramic
& Glass Design, Toy Design & Development, Transportation
& Automobile Design.
4) I.T Integrated Design comprising of
New Media Design, Software & User Interface Design,
Information & Digital Design.
5) Inter- Disciplinary Design studies:
Design Management comprising of Strategic Design
Management.
Careers in design are on the upswing. Designers in all fields
find remunerative jobs or set up their own studios/ consultancies,
catering to design needs of various companies. Definitely,
