About: Design Institute of India, is an upcoming Design abode based at Indore, in Madhya Pradesh. It is concieved by an NID alumni Mr Dinesh Dubey, who has an extensive Industrial and Educational experience. The institute is located close to IIM, Indore on a 14 acre stretch of land.

The good news is that leading faculty from National Institute of Design are joining Design Institute of India. Mr Pradeep Choksey, regarded as the grandfather of Indian Graphic Design is joining Dii as the Head of Graphic Design Subject, while Mr Narendra Patel will be joining as the head of Animation and Film Design. Mr Paresh Chatterjee will be heading the Textile Design Department.

The institute will have following specialisations in design:
  • Apparel Design & Merchandising
  • Graphic Design & Advertising
  • Animation and Film Design
  • Interior Design

Eligibility

Post-Graduate Diploma Programs - 2 ½ year programs

  • Graduate in any Discipline or equivalent (those appearing in final exams in year 2007-08 may also apply)

Graduate Diploma programs - 4 ½ year program

  • The admission is open to the students who have passed or appearing during the academic year 2007-2008. 10th from CBSE, MP BOARD or Equivalents like AISSCE/IB/ICSE etc 10+2- Higher Secondary or Equivalents like AISSCE/IB/ICSE etc.
  • Upper age limit: 25 years as on July 1st 2008

Admission Procedure
Candidates will be considered on the basis of their performance in the Design Aptitude Test, to be held at National Level. This will be followed by a Studio Test and a personal interview scheduled to be held at Indore Campus.

Tests to be conducted at 7 centres simultaneously : 10 May 2008
