NID Exam Reviews
AFD got feedbacks from students across the country after the NID exam.

H imani Kathuria

AFD is something great for students like me.I mean like those who have the capability ... who own the creativity , but they don't know how to take it out, how to pen it on a sheet. AFD is like the oil in the engine who helps engine to move smoothly.Everything with afd team was done forcefully; it was so interesting to work with them. Each faculty was so caring and taught us so nicely in different interesting ways, especially Mam Lolita, Mam Mamta ,Mam Julie n all were soooooo much good.

So many good questions were provided for the practise. Actually AFD forced us to move our minds properly according to what a designer should think , different from the rest think.

I was really forced by the hard work of AFD team not to miss any class, I rushed every saturday from Karnal to Delhi n enjoyed that when i worked properly according to teachers.

In short I would saying " I luv u AFD"

Anubhav Ganguly

First of all I would like to introduce about myself I am Anubhav Ganguly I am from Allahabad and I am registered student of AFD.I have enrolled for the program NIFT/NID Ug Combo Pack 2008.

AFD has truly given me a hope to entering into the top Indian Fashion colleges. Earlier when for the first time I gave my entrance test for NIFT 2007 I didn't knew a single thing about the paper and how about it should be approached ,the type of questions that will be coming and how to maximize my chances of getting into some of the good fashion colleges. I came to know about AFD. I seriously needed a help to make my next attempt a successful one. I came to know about AFD through google search and frankly speaking I searched a lot of coaching institutes before deciding at last going with AFD. According to the quality, content and fees wise AFD was the best according to my needs. There was range of options that students can choose according to his/her needs which i felt the best about.

When I received my first consignment for my particular course it kind of generated some inner confidence in myself and from that moment I started thinking that I can really make it condition If I work hard. I particularly choose AFD because they have some of best faculties who can help you in their best possible way they can. The mock tests helped me most to know what is NIFT/NID all about .

I would like to gratify my special thanks to the AFD members who boosted a lot confidence in myself and fairly know this much with their continuous help. I did a lot better than my 2007 NID paper. The books they provided right from the Drawing Ability to Creative ability were sure speaker for themselves. If one really solves them and go through it sincerely I believe that he has the greatest chances in getting to any of the premium fashion or design Institutes. Their part of labour is truly speaking for themselves because they the highest number of student ratio who cracked NIFT/NID examinations according to my personal sources than any other coaching institutes. I would surely recommend any budding designer or fashion designers who really want to get into colleges like NIFT/NID should go for AFD.

I was not able to attend any of their regular classes because I have been residing in Allahabad which is UP so it was a bit difficult for me to move to delhi. Thats the only suggestion I would like to give the AFD members that you guys should open up your regular classes in more in Uttar Pradesh because they do really need it and I am quite sure that the response would be very positive.

About my this year NID experience ,thoughts and fears.... I would like to describe a little bit about my fears first.

6th January,2008 the d-day.. I had my centre in Kanpur.I only feared that the questions that are asked are not really very difficult to attempt. But thanks to AFD once again the practice with their mock papers made my fears vanish as soon as I saw the paper.

Once i started attempting the question Thanks to God my ideas and creativeness started to flow in my mind rapidly. Then again the fear started creeping in my mind that whether I could finish the paper on time because this year it was a little bit lengthy compared to the past years. My fear became eventually true as I couldn't finished the second last question of my paper Time over!!

After giving the paper the same day I called the AFD Miss. Julie James to know that how much I gonna have to pay for leaving my second last question though I have done the rest of sections pretty well. She told me that I need not to be worry if I have done the rest of section very well .Though I guess this is not true. But I did it the best I could.

Thanking you AFD team members and specially to Mrs. Shreeja and Miss. Julie James for all their constant support and for building up the confidence within myself.

With Regards,
Anubhav Ganguly

First of all I would like to thank AFD for your weekend programme at St . Xaviers , Kolkata. It really helped me to realise my potential and improve my sketching skills. Yes, the paper was lenthy. But I thought of solving it properly rather than finishing it somehow.

NID entrance was better than expected for me. The only thing that came as a surprise for me was the proportion's questions but I did that too pretty well . Thanx to AFD for their support and cooperation. Personally speaking I have friends taking coaching from other institutions & what I've found is my study material is better & more comprehensive than theirs. ..............Shruti Agarwal (Postal Student from Hyderabad )

I have done well. The paper was easy and I found nothing unexpected in paper.
I thank the whole AFD faculty for your help and guideliness.............................. Tejashwini Yalawar

I really had much difficulty in dealing in the first test. There were questions from commerce field which mostly I was quite unaware of. Second test was ok. The same questions that I had been practicing from the AFD books...those books and supplements really helped me a lot. Both for NID and NIFT. Thank you AFD..Anupama N

Writing NID was indeed an experience…but I had expected Analytical and Logical, Mathematics and General English questions as well where I have my strengths but then this time it was purely drawing and I am not extremely satisfied with my performance. It was a 3hrs paper and I could see many finishing it before and leaving the hall but then 3hrs was just adequate for me to complete my paper but if I had been given an hour more I could done my drawings with better perfection. I also could see that many didn’t complete the paper as well. Responses after the exam says that it was a quite unexpected paper and also that they had left some questions in order to complete the rest of the questions with utmost perfection. I have put in the best of my ideas on the paper. Students, make sure that whatever you try on the paper should be the thoughts which wander away from the ordinary. .....................Ansu Susan Alexander

I am Devasmita Panda from Bhubaneswar. I am extremely happy to hereby inform you that I have been selected in Pearl Academy of Fashion for the course of Fashion Marketing in Delhi. I am heartily thankful to Julie Ma’am especially and also to the whole AFD faculty members who helped me a lot in achieving my aim. ................................ Devasmita Panda (NIFT PG – Managment Student) Devasmita has been selected for PG in Fashion Marketing, Delhi PEARL Academy

Bangalore class by AFD was really helpful for me in many ways. It helped me develop my skills and creative thinking. The faculty was amazing. They did make an impact on us. Thanks AFD............Littil Paul (75 hrs weekend student from Banglore)

I attended the AFD’s coaching classes to write PG exam for NID and NIFT. The classes conducted by you were really lively. It really gave me an idea of how the exams would be and I was able to prepare well with the materials and practice questions that were given in class time. I had a slight fear till the 1st day of exam. But the exam was easier than I had expected since it was of the same pattern more or less to what was taught in AFD’s class.

But, if the classes had been conducted for U.G and P.G courses separately at least for a day among the 5 days, it would have been still more helpful, as the questions vary at least to a slight extent for UG and PG. And the class room was very inconvenient to sit in as the benches were very short. But however, we adjusted with it. Your service is very helpful for students like us. Thank you for everything. .................Induja (Onam workshop student)

The journey of these 3 months were like really really amazing with AFD. I have really got to know so much . It was because of AFD that I learnt so much, each day something new to learn.

Nid exams could not have been good without the support and help of AFD. I really thank AFD for their support and cooperation. Even if I don’t clear my entrance I still will feel that AFD is the best. Learning in kolkata from Sujit sir and Rajiv sir was truly amazing best . It was because of Rajiv sir that I got so much of confidence. There is so much of a change in the way I think.

The NID paper was of the similar pattern that we had practiced with a few changes. Before the exams it was like what is going to happen and there was a mixed feeling nervousness and excitement. it was like what would happen if the pattern would change but at the and everything was fine.

I really thank AFD and its faculties without whom my exam would not have been a success. I really thank Rajiv sir and Sujit sir I think they are the best. I don’t have any other words for them.

The exam was tough , and more over I hadn't prepared well b'coz i had exams in school also’-. Anita Rex ( Onam workshop student)

I just took a 2 day break after the exam. This year's exam was better, in sense it was based on creative and drawing skills entirely. As far as I can say I found the papers quite good. Just hoping to make through this time too . Maitreyee Mahatme (Postal student)

We also got few unhappy feedbacks from students who wrote PGDPD (Retail Experience) b’coz of the changed pattern of question in Test 2 paper. Instead of Case Study, this year the questions were for drawing/designing. Since this course started last year, we believe that NID is tuning their pattern & they will stict to this pattern by next year.
