Part A is the objective section, conducted online, and acts as a screening test.

Eligibility for CEED Examination and Application Process

Candidates must possess a mandatory degree, diploma, or postgraduate degree of at least three years duration after the 10+2 level. Alternatively, candidates must be appearing for the final examination of such a program by July of the admission year, or have passed the GD Arts diploma program (10+5 level). There is no age limit for the CEED examination.

    Application Process

The application process requires online registration on the official CEED website. In addition to submitting the required documents, applicants must pay the application fee. Since the admissions procedure is not centralized, selected individuals must apply individually to each participating institute (IITs, IISc, etc.) when the results are announced.

    CEED Preparation Tips & Books

The key to successful CEED preparation is striking a balance between skill development and aptitude:

Sketching Practice: Set aside time each day to sketch. Part B requires careful attention to perspective, human and product sketching, and visual storytelling.

Part A Aptitude: Develop your logical thinking, spatial visualization, and analytical skills through focused practice problems and puzzles.

Design Sensitivity: Read design magazines, look up product histories, and stay up to date on social and environmental issues to enhance your Part A and Part B creative responses.

Mock Tests: Take full-length mock tests under timed conditions to simulate the actual exam and identify weak areas.

Recommended Study Material: We offer thorough study guides at afdindia. Reference books on perspective drawing, general design awareness, and analytical reasoning are also strongly advised.

    FAQs

Is CEED coaching necessary if I am good at drawing?

Yes, CEED is an aptitude test rather than merely a drawing test. Coaching is crucial to mastering the analytical, logical, and design-sensitive topics in Part A as well as the specific drawing and communication formats required for Part B.

How long does a CEED coaching program usually last?

Regular programs typically run for 6 to 12 months for comprehensive coverage. With a duration of 4 to 8 weeks, crash courses are intended for intensive review and practice exams closer to the test date.

Does the coaching center help with portfolio development for the interviews?

Yes, top CEED coaching centres in Kochi offer specific guidance and one-on-one sessions for portfolio preparation, which is a mandatory requirement for the MDes interview stage at most IITs after clearing CEED.

Can I attend CEED coaching online from my hometown?

Yes. We offer online CEED coaching that is equally as effective as in-person instruction, complete with recorded lectures, live interactive classes, and customized doubt-clearing sessions.

What distinguishes CEED exam Parts A and B?

Part A is the mandatory, computer-based screening test that assesses general design aptitude, while Part B is the subjective, offline test that evaluates specific drawing, creative, and problem-solving skills, and is only checked if you are shortlisted in Part A.
